Qualifying items

  • What can I sell?

    The list of items we're looking for changes all the time, depending on what we have in stock and what our customers are looking for.
    Anything considered for the Pre-owned Market must be bitless tack or parts, or associated items, including:
    - Bitless bridles
    - Bitless nosebands
    - Hackamore shanks
    - Reins
    - Neckropes
    - Headcollars
    - Rope halters
    - Lead lines
    Everything must meet our minimum guidelines for ethical design and good quality.

  • What kinds of bridles do you buy?

    We are open to all sizes, styles and designs of bridles, from all manufacturers.
    We do not accept the following bridle types at all, as they do not meet our ethical guidelines:
    - Cross-under sidepulls
    - Dr Cook bridles
    - Scawbrig sidepulls
    - Long-shanked hackamores
    - Dually or other 'control' headcollars
    We also do not accept any bridles with the following features:
    - Thin or unpadded nosebands
    - Metal core, plastic or rope nosebands
    - Insufficient poll padding
    This list is not exhaustive and may be subject to change.

  • What condition do items need to be in?

    We only accept items in excellent condition, unless they are suitable for sale as parts or for refurbishment. Condition and the cost of repairs/replacements is factored in to your quoted price.

  • What can I do with items that don't qualify?

    We accept donations of items that do not meet ethical guidelines to our free-access educational work. Being able to see unethical equipment and compare it with ethical options is hugely impactful in bettering the education of the equestrian community.
    Any items accepted as donations will never be used on a horse or sold on.
    Postage to Inca Equestrian HQ is covered by us for all donations.

Getting paid

  • How do I sell my item?

    If you have something you would like to sell, first get in touch to discuss the item and if it fits our current 'wanted' list.
    If your item is suitable, you will be quoted a price for the sale. This is non-negotiable and based on both our costs for preparing the item for resale as well as its market value. The quote includes postage.
    All sales are immediate – once you have accepted your offer, payment is made via PayPal with goods and services protection, and you can ship your item to Inca Equestrian HQ.

  • Do I have to deal with the buyer?

    No, (provided it is as described) once your item has been accepted and received by Inca Equestrian you do not need to do anything further.
    Your sale is directly to us and the Pre-owned Market is not a third-party selling platform.
